  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 12–15+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated success managing large and complex projects
  • Professional Licensure: Registered Architect or Professional Engineer
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong track record of client development and relationship management
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing staff
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead presentations and engage stakeholders
  • Technical expertise with industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite)
Responsibilities
  • Lead Projects – Direct multidisciplinary teams from planning and design through construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables, timely completion, and alignment with client goals.
  • Grow Our Presence – Represent GFT in Hawaii, developing trusted client relationships, expanding our market share, and positioning us as a long-term partner in the community.
  • Mentor & Recruit – Build and guide a strong local team by mentoring junior staff, supporting professional development, and recruiting new talent aligned with our culture.
  • Foster Collaboration – Coordinate across disciplines, including architects, engineers, planners, and consultants, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Uphold Quality – Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client expectations while promoting innovation and constructability.
  • Champion Community & Culture – Engage with the local community and honor Hawaiian values of respect, balance, and teamwork in all aspects of work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous work on federal, transportation, or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with local Hawaiian regulations, permitting, and construction practices
  • Experience in business development and proposal preparation (seller/doer mindset)
  • Background in site development, utilities, or aviation/transportation projects a plus
