Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • EPIC
  • 1 + years’ work experience.
  • Experienced in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine.
Responsibilities
  • Supervises practice registration scheduling, visit closing, billing/collection, and clinical information processes and systems to ensure they are functioning effectively and on a timely basis to ensure effective operations in accordance with established NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group (NYPMG) procedures.
  • Cultivate teamwork and a high level of communication among staff. Act as a liaison between the department manager and staff.
  • Contributes to the implementation of programs to improve the quality of departmental services. Maintains safety standards to ensure maximum protection for patients and staff. Attends and participates in departmental meetings, as needed.
  • Assists in developing and implementing approved systems to provide cost-effective management of departmental activities (i.e., information retrieval, scheduling, and productivity). Collect data using the department computer system, check output for accuracy and completeness, and maintain online system support. Makes appropriate recommendations to the department Manager to improve systems and department operations.
  • Ensures a timely and accurate flow of information to staff and senior management. Also maintains effective communication with other hospital employees in related departments to ensure efficient departmental operations. May coordinate department activities with patient care and other hospital services. Responds to department-related inquiries, addresses problems, takes corrective action, and refers unresolved matters to the department Manager or appropriate others as necessary.
  • Determines work schedules, including holiday and vacation time. May coordinate activities, tools, etc. with other departments and service groups, as necessary.
  • Collects information related to department operations and prepares summaries and reports as required. Maintain practice standards and adhere to quality goals and other performance criteria including budget to actual volumes.
  • May relieve the Manager during temporary absences.
  • Performs all duties inherent to supervisor role. Participates with the Manager in hiring, training, evaluating, and terminating assigned staff according to NYPMG policies and procedures.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
