Requirements
  • You have designed and shipped interaction patterns for complex, technical products such as infrastructure tools, developer platforms, or enterprise systems with non-trivial domain models.
  • You think in systems, not screens, and can design an information architecture that holds together across a dashboard, a CLI, and a software development kit.
  • You have strong opinions on what makes a CLI ergonomic, an API discoverable, or a dashboard useful under pressure and can defend those opinions while remaining open to being wrong.
  • You understand frontend engineering well enough to build what you design or ensure it is a reasonable build, and you are comfortable with modern web technologies.
  • You have internalized an AI-native development workflow and can demonstrate the productivity gains it enables, using AI tools to specify, build, and validate as core parts of how you deliver.
  • You have experience with design systems or have built one, and understand how to create reusable patterns that scale across surfaces without becoming rigid.
  • You communicate clearly and work effectively with customers, founders, and other engineers, translating user research and usage data into actionable design decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Own the experience layer across every surface of the Dome Platform, including the dashboard, CLI tools, software development kit interfaces, and application programming interface interactions.
  • Make design decisions, build what you design, and iterate based on real usage.
  • Define and ship interaction design across the platform surfaces.
  • Understand how platform engineers, security teams, and operators think about the development lifecycle and design experiences that make complex workflows tractable.
  • Own the end-to-end experience, including information architecture, interaction patterns, CLI ergonomics, dashboard layouts, error states, and progressive disclosure.
  • Design coherent experiences across multiple interaction paradigms, including workflows that span the CLI, dashboard, and software development kit.
  • Write frontend code, prototype interactions, and ship production interfaces.

Dome Systems builds agent-native infrastructure to give enterprises a consistent system of control over AI agents. It creates a unified governance layer that works across clouds, data systems, and SaaS tools so AI agents can be deployed securely and reliably at scale. The platform treats every agent as three parts—code (runtime and orchestration), a model (reasoning engine), and tools (external interactions)—and connects to all systems to identify agents, checks every action against policy before it runs, and records every governed decision for auditing. Unlike tools that only manage who can access agents, Dome Systems focuses on governing the decisions agents make in real time. The goal is to manage the growing “agentic estate” so businesses can innovate quickly while staying secure and compliant.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • April 2026 seed funding from Redpoint, Bessemer, and Mango validates the thesis.
  • July 2026 early access targets select enterprises, signaling active buyer pull.
  • AI agent governance demand surged in 2026 as enterprises need cross-platform control.

What critics are saying

  • Microsoft Agent 365 and Entra Agent ID compress Dome’s control-plane differentiation by 2026.
  • Zenity, Noma Security, and WitnessAI crowd the category with larger funding and distribution.
  • Dome’s $14 million seed limits enterprise sales coverage; category leaders can outspend it.

What makes Dome Systems unique

  • Dave McJannet’s HashiCorp pedigree gives Dome credibility with infrastructure buyers.
  • Dome unifies agent discovery, policy enforcement, and audit trails across runtimes.
  • Its source-level event model records every governed action for compliance and incident reconstruction.

Dave McJannet, Dome Systems CEO: A Fortt Knox Update

I speak with Ex-HashiCorp CEO Dave McJannet about his new company, Dome Systems. He just exited stealth with a $14M seed co-led by Redpoint and Bessemer (Mango participating). McJannet argues agentic apps are probabilistic — Waymo-style — which breaks cloud-era access-control governance. Dome becomes the compliance system across every agent, runtime and cloud. He frames agentic AI as the next platform transition after cloud.
