Requirements
  • Experience operating excavators and backhoes in underground utility or construction environments
  • Knowledge of underground construction and utility installation practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety procedures
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as needed
Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, and other underground construction machinery safely and efficiently
  • Perform trenching, digging, grading, and utility installation work according to project specifications
  • Assist with installation of underground utilities including conduit and power systems
  • Read and interpret utility plans, blueprints, and locate markings
  • Support trenching and drilling operations as needed
  • Readiness to assist HDD locating using tracking equipment (preferred)
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
  • Identify and avoid existing underground utilities and potential hazards
  • Work closely with foremen, laborers, and project managers to complete projects on schedule
  • Maintain a clean and safe jobsite in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards
  • Assist with hand digging, spotting equipment, and other field duties as required
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating Horizontal Directional Drills (HDD)
  • Experience locating for HDD operations using locating/tracking systems
  • CDL preferred but not required to start. Will be required after 90 days
  • Experience in underground power or conduit installation

Quanta Services acquires Davenport's Tri-City Group, adding 2,800 employees to 69,000-strong workforce

Quanta Services has acquired Davenport-based Tri-City Group, a family of contractors and engineering companies specialising in electrical construction, technology solutions and industrial services. The acquisition was completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. Tri-City Group will retain its name, brand and leadership team, including the Palmer Family. The company, which has operated since 1895, employs over 2,800 people and has completed projects in 46 states, two US territories and six countries. Houston-based Quanta Services, which employs approximately 69,000 people, is a specialised contracting company providing integrated engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services for electric power, renewable energy and underground utility infrastructure. The acquisition strengthens Quanta's electrical infrastructure services capabilities across key US regions.

Truist raises Quanta Services price target to $643 amid strong electric infrastructure performance and record $44B backlog

Truist analyst Jamie Cook has raised the price target on Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR) to $643 from $548, maintaining a Buy rating. The upgrade follows the company's fourth-quarter earnings beat, driven by strong performance in Electric Infrastructure and strategic acquisitions. On 19 February 2026, Quanta reported Q4 adjusted earnings per share of $3.16, beating the $3.02 consensus, with revenue of $7.84 billion exceeding expectations of $7.37 billion.
