Requirements
  • High level proficiency in written and spoken English; bilingual preferred
  • Registration in the Central Background Registry
  • Completion of required health and safety training before working with children
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with major coursework in Early Childhood and/or Social Work
  • Minimum 2 years professional leadership and early childhood experience working with multi-background staff in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and approaches in early childhood programming
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including experience delegating and sharing responsibilities in a collaborative environment
  • Must have knowledge of best practices in children services, early childhood developmental domains, and working with excluded groups, populations and communities of color
  • Experience working with immigrant and refugee populations, and communities of color required
  • A solid understanding of supervising varied backgrounds staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments

  • Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily preschool program activities and schedules; ensure high-quality, community-aware approach delivery; oversee student enrollment; and maintain all program records
  • Supervise teaching teams; monitor and evaluate performance; recommend staff hiring/staff terminations within organization policies and procedures to Preschool Programs Assistant Manager
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all governmental and regulatory bodies in connection with the Preschool; ensure compliance with state licensing and Preschool Promise requirements
  • Train and orient new employees; encourage and ensure optimal communication through regular meetings. Ensure consistent interpretation of Agency policies. Consult with Assistant Manager, Early Learning Director, and Human Resources regarding staffing needs, disciplinary issues, work plans, etc.
  • Perform assessment and referral; training; supportive reflective supervision; and other services as needed to fulfill program goals and objectives
  • Assist the Assistant Manager with strategic planning for division programs and services
  • Monitor $400 K + program expenses such as personnel, supplies, local travel, client assistance, and professional development as directed by Assistant Manager
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote programs and Agency objectives within the community. Establish and maintain cooperative external relationships with community partners, volunteer agencies, the community, and the public. Participate in committees and groups as required to fulfill program goals and deliverables
  • Plan and facilitate staff meetings in collaboration with the Assistant Manager; meet with Assistant Manager monthly for required supervision
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to families, personnel issues, and other program operations
  • Report on suspected cases of child abuse and neglect to the appropriate party and Assistant Manager
  • Participate in all Early Learning staff meetings, trainings, IRCO events, and other community meetings
  • Work with Assistant Manager to create, plan, and track expenses to monitor program budget
  • Collaborate with Assistant Manager and Data Analyst to write and submit program reports
  • Ensure all payment vouchers and reimbursements are completed within required time frames
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English & another language
  • Experience with reflective practice and supervision preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft OneDrive and tracking program data/outcomes
  • Familiarity with Teaching Strategies and Creative Curriculum
  • Understanding of local resources for families and the early childhood referral system
