Requirements
  • A certified public accountant license.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a public accounting firm, focused on trusts and estates.
  • Strong leadership and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software, trial balance tools, spreadsheets, and research platforms.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, financial accounting standards, Statements on Auditing Standards, generally accepted auditing standards, and general ledger structures.
  • Strong communication, technical, organizational, detail-orientation, and problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review estate and trust fiduciary accountings and related tax filings.
  • Lead fiduciary accounting services and coordinate with attorneys, courts, and fiduciaries.
  • Oversee general trust and estate administration, including distributions and recordkeeping.
  • Manage judicial and non-judicial accountings and participate in quality control reviews.
  • Advise on trustee and executor actions, including investment and funding analysis.
  • Compute trustee commissions, unitrust and annuity payments, and tax estimates.
  • Support the final settlement and closure of trusts and estates.
  • Interpret governing trust documents to ensure proper accounting allocations.
