Director of the Psychological Services Center

The Director of the Psychological Services Center position is essential to the health and vitality of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. The Psychological Services Center (PSC) provides evidence based psychological services to individuals from the community. The Center serves primarily uninsured or under-insured individuals who would otherwise not have access to services. The PSC is the primary practicum training site for students in the clinical graduate program. Every student in the doctoral program starts their practicum training at the PSC, under close supervision of the Director and clinical supervisors. Students carry PSC cases throughout their training. The PSC is the primary means by which students engage in experiential training that complements their didactic instruction. The Director provides direct services to PSC clients. Typical hiring range for this position is $87,000 to $90,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required: 

• Doctoral degree in psychology with a specialization in clinical psychology from a training program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
• APA accredited predoctoral internship.
• Licensed to practice psychology in Maine, preferably within one year of employment.

Preferred: 

• Strong skills in verbal and written communication, organization, and interpersonal interaction.
• Ability to function in a variety of roles (e.g., supervisor, clinician, teacher/mentor, administrator).
• Ability to travel normally requiring a driver's license.
• Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
• Strong clinical skills including: Psychological assessment, Psychotherapy, and Consultation. 
• Ability to use independent judgement, and to manage and impart confidential information.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
