Requirements
  • Preferred Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or Systems Engineering
  • A minimum of 8+ years of related experience in data engineering, machine learning, AI, data science, and technical leadership
  • Start-up experience highly desirable
  • A strong comfort level with cloud services (AWS, GCP), and columnar databases (Redshift, Snowflake, Bigquery)
  • Experience with emerging AI tools, e.g. OpenAI, etc and lead on product proposals & proofs of concept (POCs)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark (Batch/Streaming), SparkSQL, PySpark, CI/CD, and automated testing capabilities
  • Substantial Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) and data pipelines and job monitoring management/tools (AWS Glue, Airflow, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, PII/PHI protection and data masking, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data exploration and visualization tools (Looker etc.)
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on project implementation and delivery
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership around data science, and development initiatives and implement data-driven solutions that drive business value and support the company's strategic goals
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to discover patterns, detect anomalies, and test hypotheses, including the creation, training, and support of a customized Large Language Model (LLM) for our next-gen AI platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analytics, engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams, to ensure that data and AI initiatives are integrated into the overall technology strategy
  • Lead hands-on technical data science work, including designing and developing data models, algorithms, machine learning systems, and comprehensive data analysis and visualization
  • Ensure the quality and privacy of data and AI models and algorithms, and protect PII/PHI information through testing and validation to ensure that models are accurate, reliable, and scalable
  • Mentor team members by providing technical guidance. Establish technical standards, best practices, and methodologies for data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence projects
  • Identify and contribute to opportunities for technological enhancements, innovative tooling, and vendor evaluations
