Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with automotive Chassis engineering responsibilities
  • Applications-specific experience in stabilizer bar design and release, coil spring design and release, passive damper design and release, strut design and release, ride tuning, chassis fasteners and fastener testing
  • Basic skills in Catia
  • Understanding of the APQP process and related documentation
  • Experience working within a PLM and releasing components
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or equivalent
  • Demonstrated team orientation and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Functional experience with regulatory requirements
  • Technical writing and documentation experience
Responsibilities
  • Lead development of cost, weight, and functionally efficient ride control components and systems
  • Design and release of coil springs, stabilizer bars, shocks, struts, and jounce bumpers
  • Create and maintain APQP documentation including DFMEA, Engineering Specifications, DVP&R, Drawings, Control Plans
  • Collaborate with Purchasing in sourcing new ride control components/systems
  • Manage changes to parts/systems and resolve functional, durability, and assembly issues
  • Lead Design Reviews for each component/system at required milestones
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Ensure validation of ride control components/systems
  • Create or assist in the creation of Product Assembly Documents
  • Be onsite at the manufacturing facility in support of pre-production builds
