Billing Specialist

Description

Illuminus is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent collaboration and organizational skills to join our team as a Billing Specialist In this role, you will responsible for maintaining resident census, processing statements and claims, and participating in daily cash activity.

Summary

• Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
• Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
• Completes daily deposits and updates cash balance logs.
• Maintain resident census including, admissions, discharges, status and payer changes and maintaining monthly census reports.
• Verify payer information upon admission.
• Participate in weekly billing meetings and tracking payer days.
• Responsible for monthly billing and follow-up on outstanding claims.
• Submit required reports as needed.
• Keep Finance department management apprised of payment issues.
• Remain current on various payer rule changes and attend billing seminars as necessary.
• Performs other billing and business office duties, as needed.
• Maintain positive attitude and approach to ever-changing work environment.
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree.
• Two years accounts receivable experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Word processing and spreadsheet knowledge.
• Typing and filing abilities.
• Commitment to quality outcomes and services for all individuals.
• Ability to relate well to all individuals.
• Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
• Ability to adapt to change.
