2024 Infrastructure Engineering Summer Internship

The Role

We are seeking a qualified and talented technologist to join us as a member of our Infrastructure Engineering Team. The team is responsible for the architecture, design, administration and support of our Server (physical, virtual, cloud) and storage environments globally.

What You’ll Do

The Infrastructure Engineer will work on tasks such as configuring servers using tools such as Ansible and Kickstart, provisioning storage for users(file, object or block), writing scripts (python or shell) to automate tasks, troubleshooting any outages or performance related issues for both the compute and storage environments. The ideal candidate has experience working from the command line, writing shell and python scripts, and enjoys troubleshooting and finding creative solutions to complex problems.

What You’ll Bring

• Familiarity with Linux operating environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Basic understanding of hypervisors.
• Comfort at the command line on Linux systems
• Ability to write scripts (python, shell) to automate tasks
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
• Strong interest in taking ownership of his/her work
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• A detail-oriented mindset.

Our Internship

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience.  We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.
