Overview

TheBSI Operations Associatefunctions as a hybrid resource straddling bothmiddle-officeandback-office operations.The role is dynamic and requires flexibility, collaboration, and cross-functional execution to support daily operational processes tied to trade settlement and broader securities operations.

Responsibilities

1.Settlement & Funding Operations

• Monitor and managefunding needs for settlements, particularly through:
• DTC (Depository Trust Company)
• Clearstream
• Other ad-hoc channels as required
• Ensuresettlement funding readinessacross multiple platforms and instruments.

2.Oversight & Issue Resolution

• Provideoversight of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) team: act as liaison and quality controller.
• Troubleshoot settlement issues(e.g., fails, incorrect allocations, mismatches).
• Chase missing coupon or interest paymentsand follow up on delayed settlements or unresolved trade issues.

3.Trade Lifecycle & Middle Office Support

• Supporttrade allocations and confirmations.
• Work closely withfront-office and middle-officeteams, ensuring timely trade capture and processing.
• Assist incustomer trade allocations, trade amendments, and exception handling.

4.General Team Support

• Be aflexible contributor, adapting to team needs and shifting timelines.
• Provide support where needed, even outside of your day-to-day scope.

Education & Experience Requirements

• 3–5 yearsin a financial services operations role, ideally with exposure to both middle- and back-office environments.
• Direct experience withIMPACT(trade settlement system) andBloombergis advantageous.
• Experience liaising withFront-Office staffis highly valued.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, from order capture through to post-settlement.
• Proficiency inprocess analysis, ability to identify inefficiencies and streamline operations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing across teams and with vendors.
• Ability towork independently or within a small, fast-moving team, especially under tight deadlines.

Licensing & Certification

• Series 99 required

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $100,000 to $125,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
