Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards is required.
  • Experience working with other disciplines is required.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The E.I.T. designation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SPI is preferred.
  • Candidates must meet client-specific site requirements before deployment to field assignments, which may include physical mobility on the ground and at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces, working in all weather conditions while using required personal protective equipment, and participating in client-required random drug testing or facial-hair safety policies.
Responsibilities
  • Review project requirements and scopes of work.
  • Attend client technical meetings and field walkdown meetings.
  • Perform instrument site surveys and walkdowns.
  • Develop and prepare as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation.
  • Perform client instrument documentation searches to locate required project documents.
  • Generate instrumentation data sheets, loop drawings, installation details, instrument lists, distributed control system and programmable logic controller input/output lists, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Provide technical support for field execution, including outage and turnaround projects.
  • Generate instrumentation project deliverables and work with project instrumentation designers on new or updated process instrumentation.
  • Perform project site surveys of existing instrumentation to be replaced or redesigned.
  • Mark up drawings or data sheets for as-found instrumentation and wiring details.
Desired Qualifications
  • The E.I.T. designation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SPI is preferred.
