Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Three to five years of hands-on experience developing, designing, and implementing small- to large-scale applications involving complex PL/SQL coding is required.
  • The ability to write efficient, complex queries against very large data sets is required.
  • Applied knowledge of Oracle development tools is required.
  • Exceptional consultation skills and the ability to convey technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences are required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Communicate with the team, team manager, and business customers.
  • Contribute to and remain accountable for the team's activities and workload management.
  • Maintain applications to ensure they run properly and efficiently.
  • Produce and maintain program code, primarily PL/SQL, and documentation.
  • Understand, design, build, and test change requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Assess the root causes of issues and recommend changes.
  • Perform systems testing with information technology and business customers and provide support during testing phases.
  • Prepare documentation and instructions for executing application programs.
  • Review requirements with users and provide task-completion time estimates.
  • Work as part of project teams as required.
  • Follow information technology controls practices, including information technology governance and data privacy, to ensure quality output.
  • Follow Systems Development Life Cycle best practices.
  • Provide on-call production support as required.
  • Continually learn and understand the application environment, interdependencies, and integrations with other systems.
  • Perform data management activities, including designing and building data interfaces and extracts, forms and reports, and logical and physical data models.

  • Working knowledge of database environments.

Blink Parametric Strengthens Blue Cross Partnership In Canada

Blink Parametric has agreed to a further three-year deal with Blue Cross, Canada’s most trusted insurance provider. Blue Cross was first to launch the Blink Parametric flight disruption real-time assistance solution in the Canadian market in October 2018. The solution is now offered by Blue Cross in eight Canadian provinces, including Ontario, Québec, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.This extended, three-year agreement holds particular significance for the Ireland-based InsurTech.
