Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in quarry or mining management is required.
  • Applicants must understand quarry and mining operations, including excavation, drilling, blasting, and material processing.
  • Applicants must have leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills and experience guiding a diverse team.
  • Applicants must have extensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in the mining or quarry sector.
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in cost control and process improvement initiatives.
  • Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software systems.
  • Applicants must be flexible with work hours, including possible weekends and evenings.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all quarry operations with a focus on safety, production goals, quality standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Strategize and implement objectives and plans aligned with the company's mission and vision while promoting safety, performance, and quality.
  • Direct plant operations covering production, maintenance, quality, and logistics to ensure objectives are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Create and maintain a proactive maintenance and equipment rejuvenation program to minimize operational downtime.
  • Enforce cost-control strategies and oversee operations within budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop a team of supervisors, technical staff, and operators through training, performance assessments, and career progression opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and environmental legislation while fostering a safe and respectful working environment.
  • Serve as a principal contact for suppliers, regulatory agencies, and the local community.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or additional certification in a related discipline is highly desirable.
