Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role is required, ideally within hospitality, hotels, or a multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis is required.
  • Sound knowledge of finance controls, compliance, and statutory requirements, including PAYG, BAS, GST, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, Accounts Payable, and Superannuation, is required.
  • Experience building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the business is required.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and driving operational efficiencies is required.
  • Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring team members to support performance and development is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day finance operations of the Melbourne property while providing finance support across the wider portfolio, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with hotel leaders to identify opportunities to improve profitability, manage costs, and enhance overall business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Accor policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements, including taxation, audit, and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor cash flow, credit management, and debt recovery activities to protect and optimize business outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to the Finance team.
  • Build relationships with General Managers, Owners, and key stakeholders to deliver financial guidance and commercial insight.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using hotel finance, payroll, and procurement systems such as Opera Cloud, Zambion Ready Workforce, Human Force, Wage Easy, Purchase Plus, Micros Symphony, and Sun Cloud, or similar platforms, is highly regarded.
  • CPA or CA qualification, or working toward completion, is highly regarded.
