  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate and two years of clerical and/or data entry experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education approved by Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, including record keeping, filing, and typing forms, documents, and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of business English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and basic mathematics.
  • Ability to operate a computer to enter and retrieve information in a complex database.
  • Ability to organize work, manage time, and meet established time constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with court coworkers, judicial staff, attorneys, and the public.
  • Ability to perform office work involving repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting materials or equipment weighing 20 pounds or less.
Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical and calendaring tasks and interact with court staff and the general public.
  • Perform duties at the court reception desk by greeting and directing incoming clients.
  • Search for, retrieve, and provide case-disposition information to concerned parties using manual and automated systems.
  • Operate a multiline phone console.
  • Enter, retrieve, and proofread court case information using automated and manual information systems.
  • Research reasons for returned mail and redistribute mail.
  • File dated reports and documents in the appropriate storage area.
  • Archive detention, social, and medical files.
  • Retrieve archived files upon request.
  • Maintain and operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, desktop computers, calculators, and paper shredders.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Experience managing multiple responsibilities, including phones and reception, while keeping operations smooth and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and computers.
  • Court or legal setting experience.
