Principal Project Manager
Capital One is looking for a Principal Project Manager to support the Financial Services Division. We are looking for someone who is not only a strong strategic leader, but who also demonstrates strong problem solving and influencing skills.
As a Principal Project Manager in Financial Services, you can achieve results you never thought possible by leading critical and strategic business projects and programs. Responsibilities include:
Working on medium to large-scale complex, cross-functional projects
Driving cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensuring scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identifying risks and issues and mitigating or escalating as needed; managing complex up and downstream project impacts.
Planning, designing, managing and executing project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
Leveraging problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation
Conducting regular meetings with the project team. Documenting progress and reporting to stakeholders on project status.
Partnering with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
Forging relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
Communicating and facilitating effectively across diverse audiences
Identifying risks and issues and mitigating or escalating as needed
Identifying ways to improve or streamline business processes
Facilitating meetings and ensuring that project documentation is created and maintained in a well managed way

An ideal candidate will:
Exhibit a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
Demonstrate strong and open communication and leadership skills with team members and stakeholders which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
Build a positive and motivating team environment
Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands
Display the ability to autonomously manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 3 years of Project Management experience
At least 1 year of experience presenting to Senior Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of Project Management experience
1+ year of Jira experience
PMP, Agile or Six Sigma certification
