Requirements
  • 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, preferably in a technology-focused company, with a track record of building scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with languages and technologies including JavaScript, NodeJS, AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, and AWS OpenSearch.
  • Strong understanding of Computer Science topics, including data structures, algorithms, databases, and distributed systems.
Responsibilities
  • Building and supporting high quality, high performing, scalable and secure software, while solving both technical and non-technical challenges.
  • Contributing as a member of a cross-functional agile development team including developers, testers, designers, product managers and a development manager.
  • Creating, maintaining, upgrading, and implementing software code, coding guidelines, tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Performing code reviews based on industry best practices while applying expertise in multiple programming languages. Code reviews may be outside of your primary team.
  • Proactively contributing to SkillsWave technology, identifying challenges, anticipating risks, and developing scalable solutions to complex problems across multiple products.
  • Contributing to team processes and actively participate in analysis, with ability to communicate technical information across teams.
  • Leveraging understanding of technical problems, department and SkillsWave objectives to identify solutions to novel problems and challenges that may impact both internal teams and SkillsWave customers.
  • Comprehending and providing guidance on required technologies, standards and methodologies to be used with the team and/or department, as required.
  • Supporting developed software as required, iterating on technical designs, and playing a role in deployment and addressing technical issues.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Iterates on design, supports deployment, and ensures developed software is monitored and maintained effectively—owning delivery from concept to release and beyond.
