Veterinary Nurse - Specialist Oncology I Permanent Full-Time Role

Our purpose-designed, state of the art hospital houses our specialty services, including small animal surgery, internal medicine, neurology, surgical and medical oncology, advanced imaging, and a 24/7 emergency and critical care service. Work-life balance is incredibly important to us – our full-time specialty nurses have an RDO fortnightly, with generally NO WEEKEND WORK! We have animal and hospital attendants to maintain the cleanliness of the hospital, and a dedicated reception team to handle all things front-of-house, which means our nursing team are able to focus their energy solely on their patients. Let’s face it, you didn’t become a veterinary nurse to endlessly clean or answer phones!

About You:

You are skilled at multi-tasking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced role. You love working in an upbeat team environment, enjoy some light-hearted banter, and create good friendships!
The successful Candidate will possess:
- Certificate IV in veterinary nursing and/or BAppSc (Veterinary Technology) degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience in a busy general practice or experience in referral (specialist hospital) or emergency nursing
- A strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently and multi-task, and to work independently and as part of a team
- The desire and ability to deliver consistently high quality of patient care even in busy conditions
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Attributes:
- Diploma of Veterinary Nursing or equivalent further training
- Sound knowledge and experience in anaesthetic monitoring, oncology nursing and patient care
- Experience in an emergency and/or specialist hospital
- Knowledge of RX works, Smartflow and Idexx blood machines
