Mechanical Engineer-Design:
Perform preliminary and detailed designs, packaging of components and dimensioning of part drawings using primarily CAD and CAE tools like creo parametric and complementing the engineering work based on clients’ and industry standards. Design, analyze, test and evaluate new hardware, components, products systems and processes. These will be primarily for the “heavy truck industry” (class 8 vehicles) ranging on a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical parts commonly used on trucks’ chassis. Complete deliveries for Chassis Structures department to release components through design change process based on clients’ processes and customized tools for PLM and PDM like PTC Windchill. Define and create the documents needed for production and get them released through proper approval process. Review engineering drawings from other colleagues and provide feedback before they are released, applying industry and manufacturing standards to control cost and ensure quality. Support different component areas such cross-members, cab suspension, wiring, engine suspension and frame reinforcements. Route of wires, harnesses and piping for electric and combustion trucks using CAD software like creo parametric and Catia. Coordination of projects and small groups of work to meet the different projects goals on a timely manner, adhering to the highest quality and safety stds of the truck industry. Participate in quotation process to define the time and resources needed for new projects.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or closely related field of Engineering with six (6) months experience. 40 hr/wk, $65,707/yr.
