Requirements
  • The candidate must have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • The candidate must be able to use a computer to communicate via email and be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and related tools and technology.
  • The candidate must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in mediation, arbitration, law, human resources, and formal conflict resolution.
  • Mediation or arbitration training is required, with proof of extensive industry work history and/or credentials.
  • The candidate must have at least five years of relevant mediation or arbitration experience.
  • The candidate must be able to propose possible resolutions to complex technical, managerial, or operational problems.
  • The candidate must demonstrate leadership, management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, organization, deadline management, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • The candidate must have strong interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, internet, and email applications.
  • The candidate must understand and be proficient in financial and project management systems and procedures.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • All staff must be determined eligible for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, by the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
Responsibilities
  • Provide mediation for conflict resolution among offices and platforms within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to support conflict resolution for complex employee-relations matters, including disciplinary actions, policy interpretation, employee issues, and unpleasant event occurrences.
  • Act as a neutral third-party mediator to resolve conflicts and promote a safe, transparent, and productive work environment.
  • Lead detailed, factual employee-relations reviews and summarize findings in written reports.
  • Research and understand agency policies and guidelines to assess conflicts.
  • Collaborate with personnel and Human Resources to review current and potential conflicts arising in employee-agency interactions.
  • Provide neutral guidance for effective conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance to the Office of Marine and Aviation Operations and its employees on various matters.
  • Identify mediation trends and follow conflict-resolution best practices.
  • Support project teams and program managers with daily execution of assigned work functions.
  • Summarize issues and findings clearly and logically.
  • Work with federal government business operations and processes.
  • Establish, manage, pursue, and fulfill annual goals and objectives.
  • Support business development and other efforts on behalf of ProSidian Consulting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in formal alternative dispute resolution services is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in project administration and management procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using database applications and presentation software is desirable.
