Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in assembly technology, manufacturing engineering, or process development within the automotive or electronics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes, including fastening, bonding, welding, and pressing.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, and vision systems in assembly.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, Six Sigma (certification ideal), Lean Manufacturing
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, working across departments and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and handle multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in English and German (preferred or willingness to learn).
  • Flexibility to travel for onsite support
  • Understanding of electrification and automation trends.
Responsibilities
  • Select and integrate equipment (such as automation, robotics, and vision systems) into manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely commissioning of new machinery.
  • Address process-related issues using Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA methodologies.
  • Train operators and technicians on new technologies and process improvements.
  • Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives in assembly, including digital twins, IoT, and predictive maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for AI implementation in manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize SixSigma tools to understand the opportunities for process improvement in terms of cost and quality.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to ensure smooth ramp-up of new products and technological alignment in process implementation.
  • Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews to influence product designs for efficient assembly.
