Requirements
  • Be enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, or related course studies.
  • Have computer skills including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Hold a valid current state driver's license and qualify to operate a vehicle under the company's Driving Policy.
  • Pass drug, driving record, and background screening.
  • Have basic knowledge of the construction industry and willingness to learn heavy civil construction.
  • Have adequate knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Be able to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Be able to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Responsibilities
  • Work within the company's core values and mission statement for safety and behavior.
  • Maintain punctuality and the agreed-upon work schedule.
  • Collect timecards and equipment usage reports.
  • Assist the Superintendent with daily project reports.
  • Enter information into Heavy Job software daily for time and equipment entry, maintain quantities, and apprise the Superintendent of costs and quantities.
  • Review and calculate quantities upon receipt of pay estimates.
  • Assist with implementation of the site storm water pollution prevention plan.
  • Maintain an organized field office.
  • Maintain the job diary and job photograph and video logs.
  • Draft routine correspondence as needed.
  • Document changed work and conditions for the Superintendent, Project Manager, and Corporate Office.
  • Assist with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Engineer with updating the project schedule.
  • Assist with entering job costing and additional data.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
