  • Technical degree or trade in related area and 4 years’ related experience including 2 years’ supervision in a chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, fossil, power plant or other heavy industry

  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any depot or BGCAPP drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement
  • Possess strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate and prioritize projects, adapting to change as they occur
  • Must be detail oriented and possess ability to manage complex and varied projects
  • Must have good communication skills to provide technical assistance, presentations, and/or training to field personnel

  • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of chemicals or chemical munitions, environmental and safety regulations, plant processes, project controls, managing of major contracts, ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives, reach consensus on complex issues in a timely manner, and manage other in performing complex, interrelated tasks in an efficient, effective, and timely manner.
Responsibilities
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.
  • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.
  • Assign, supervise and direct work activities of assigned personnel.
  • Counsel assigned personnel on company policies, procedures, performance and personnel issues.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations, recommending salary adjustments and reviewing leave requests.
  • Prepare and review plans, procedures and manuals for project implementation as necessary.
  • Understand all applicable operational and regulatory requirements and ensure operations, deviations, and testing conforms to these requirements.
  • Enforce standards and expectations for assigned personnel.
  • Provide clear, concise goals and objectives, policies and procedures, priorities and constraints that must be met during operations (ie schedule, budget, personnel and equipment restraints).
  • Reinforce conduct of operations and compliance culture.
  • Responsible for certification program, training and development of assigned personnel.
  • Provide operational technical support as required and support Training as subject matter expert.
  • Review resumes, conduct interviews and identify desired candidates.
  • Ensure adequate munitions and other materials are available to support operations.
  • Support the LOTO Coordinator in the day-to-day execution of LOTO Program.
  • Perform shift work sign-on to allow work within a job package during shift.
  • Ensure equipment is started, operated, and shutdown according to approved project standard operating procedures.
  • Verify equipment can be worked on, retest required, authorize the performance of work, verify that necessary permits are in place, and notify management of the change to plant status and schedule variance.
  • Provide work control support by initiating and planning work orders, attendance at T-minus schedule meetings, and attendance at forced and planned outage schedule meetings.
  • Prepare confined space, open process, hot work and toxic area permits to facilitate safe conditions for plant activities.
  • Routinely participate in management observation program and conduct operational self-assessments as necessary.
  • Conduct independent walk downs of facility ensuring compliance.
  • Supervise personnel performing applicable environmental inspections and waste handling operations.
  • Serve as plant interface on environmental, safety and quality assurance compliance issues in support of operations.
  • Support plant readiness reviews, modification planning, and munitions changeover planning.
  • Identify housekeeping and facility material condition deficiencies to the appropriate departments for corrective action.
  • Make timely notifications when required by plant events and procedures.
  • Control and mitigate events under the direction of SPM during plant contingencies.
  • Assist in investigating and developing reports on unusual plant occurrences.
  • Identify and document issues utilizing the condition reporting system and promote usage of the system with operations personnel to close out items assigned to them.
  • Plan and schedule work assignment for day-to-day operations.
  • Prepare shift change-over documents, review production data, and conduct precise, informative shift briefings establishing goals and priorities.
  • Ensure all operating activities are performed safely and according to approved standard operating procedures within the requirements of limited condition of operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining plant configuration to support established limited conditions of operations mode.
  • Evaluate heat stress requirements and stay times.
  • Responsible for ensuring qualified and certified personnel are available to meet LCO requirements and maintain operating conditions.
  • Review and analyze data regarding operations, test plans, and procedures; prepare documentation and coordinate the resolution of both technical and non-technical issues with audiences across organizations as necessary.
  • Assist the Emergence Response/Entry Coordinator in supporting crew training and entries in protective clothing and equipment.
  • Check daily permit operator sheets to support compliance requirements.
  • Conduct and ensure areas are operating and maintained in a safe, environmentally sound, secure, cost effective, and disciplined manner in strict compliance with approved procedures and within limitations identified in the Limited Condition of Operations (LCOs).
  • Monitor, control, and support all activities of personnel working in the limited and exclusion areas.
  • Perform and document all operations activities for assigned systems in accordance with approved guidelines and SOP requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records (eg logbooks, datasheets, munitions accountability, magazine data cards, plan-o-graphs).
  • Supervise munitions receipt and loading at the Blue Grass Chemical Activity storage location.
  • Supervise munitions staging, loading, and feed preparation.
  • Supervise munitions transport, monitoring, unloading, movement, and warehousing operations.
  • Support daily activities, track progress, and provide status to management.
  • May serve as Shift Plant Manager in event of their absence.
  • May serve as On-Scene Commander for ERT during contingencies, taking emergency action as necessary to prevent or mitigate consequences of contingency conditions and place the process in a safe, stable condition following an event.
  • Perform other collateral duties as assigned for operations of project.
  • Must serve as an Emergency Response Team Member.

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amentum has been awarded a $245 million, five-year task order by the U.S. Air Force for the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) supporting Microelectronics Facilities and Laboratories Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDTE) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM) and the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).
