Requirements
  • A junior pursing a degree in a technical or quantitative field
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Python, Go, R, or other programming languages
  • Interest and experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Ability to work with data and data querying
  • High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with high profile stakeholders
  • Interest in Capital Markets or Finance
  • Desire to taking ownership of his/her/their work

Responsibilities
  • We are excited to offer an opportunity for a diverse group of talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You'll spend ten weeks with the Data Operations team within the Schonfeld Technology division where you will be immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld, working alongside talented professionals on high profile projects
  • The Data Operations team is responsible for observing and improving the production health of the Schonfeld Data Platform. The team provides specialist technical knowledge and data product expertise to Portfolio Managers, their investment teams, and other data users within Schonfeld
  • As part of the Data Operations team, you will be responsible for the availability and integrity of the data in the Schonfeld Data Platform. You will contribute to the improvement of the reliability of the data platform and ensuring start-of-day readiness for trading. You will provide knowledgeable insight to users with regards to the data content, as well as technical assistance should issues arise
  • Our Data Operations Engineering intern will have unique exposure to our Portfolio Managers and investments teams and will work closely with them to communicate data needs and troubleshoot technical issues. You will be assigned both a manager and mentor, participate in organized team-building events, lunch and learns, social activities, and network with senior management throughout the summer. You will be assigned summer-long projects that will be directly related to the work of the team you are assigned to, which you will present on at the completion of the program. Upon completion of the internship, you may be extended a full-time offer of employment
  • We do not require prior experience in finance, but we do require a passion for software development and solving business problems. We will teach you what you may lack in business knowledge to help you complete your tasks
