Azure & Windows Infrastructure Platform Engineer

Vanguard’s Windows & Azure Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our Azure Cloud infrastructure, in addition to on-premise Windows Server Operating Systems, Compute and Storage. We are seeking a platform engineer specialist passionate about troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware or software issues that span multiple technology domains across modern systems, management tools, and practices. Experience with Windows Server OS, Virtualization, Converged Infrastructure, Azure, networking, and scripting is needed.

In this role you’ll:

• Monitor, manage and maintain Windows, Compute, Storage and Azure resources.

• Contribute strategically to the evaluation of infrastructure cloud readiness.

• Administer systems by actively managing patching, routine maintenance, and backups to include the scheduling and execution of related tasks.

• Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and drive platform improvements.

• Provide intermediate level technical support for small to mid-size projects.

• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of overall IT experience.

• 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud administration/operations

• Azure Administrator certification

• Experience with Microsoft products including Active Directory, SQL, SCCM, DFS and FTP experience.

• Converged Infrastructure experience

• Strong experience in scripting languages like PowerShell and Terraform for automation/administrative purposes.

• Understanding of cross-platform (Windows and Linux) systems within an enterprise environment - preferably Windows.

• Must be a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, problem solving and multitasking skills complimenting a passion for learning/sharing information from and with peers.

Special factors: This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays – Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships. On Mondays and Fridays, our crew will have the option to work remotely, or continue working from one of our offices in Wayne PA or Charlotte NC.
