Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Credentialing Board (NMTCB) recognized Nuclear Medicine Program is required.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of Nuclear Medicine/PET experience required; 1 year preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Certification: Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT, OR registry eligible with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts; if registry eligible, certification must be obtained within 12 months.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provide therapy as ordered by physician.
  • Perform quality patient care for pediatric through adult patients using professional and ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Prepare the patient and operate nuclear medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic scans and assist in quality care.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of Nuclear Medicine/PET experience preferred.
  • Registry eligibility with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts preferred.
