Deputy Diary Editor
Location: Mail on Sunday Headquarters – London
Position: Permanent
The Mail on Sunday is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious new Deputy Diary Editor.
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for stories as well as an ability to write quickly and with flair. They will have an interest in society news, royals, and an enthusiasm for attending showbiz events and evening parties. Several times a year they will get the opportunity to stand in as the Diary’s editor.
Main Responsibilities:
- Bring in exclusive stories for the column
- Make and maintain great contacts
- Write crisp stories for the weekly column
- Source and attend events
Applicants will ideally have:
- NCTJ or similar qualification
- At least two years’ experience as a reporter
- The ability to turn around quick, accurate copy
- The ability to quickly strike up a rapport with people, in person and on the phone
- A sharp eye for a story

The Diary pages deliver exclusive stories every week with eye-catching pictures to accompany them. The team has its finger on the pulse of the society scene and brings in stories from the movers and shakers making waves at events in London and beyond.
