Responsibilities
  • Create diet and exercise programs for those on track for bariatric surgery, surgical prehabilitation, and medical weight loss.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Mid-Level Providers and the Bariatric Dietitian to optimize patient weight loss outcomes.
  • Evaluate food intake diaries and collect appropriate data to give patient specific dietary recommendations and acknowledge achievements.
  • Create individualized cardiovascular and strength training regiments that are appropriate for medical weight loss and bariatric surgery patients.
  • Assist patients in weight loss goal setting, lifestyle modification plans, and general healthy living education.
  • Have knowledge of and provide samples to patients of vitamins and food products in the clinics inventory.
  • Make calls to pre-operative, post-operative, and medical weight loss patients through telehealth visits.
  • Teach pre-operative and post-operative educational classes for bariatric patients.
  • Assist with data collection for maintaining ASMBS accreditation.
  • Facilitate support groups.
  • Operate standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Should be proficient in computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
