Requirements
  • A bachelor's or associate degree in computer science, mathematics, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or at minimum an IT certification; six years of experience is equivalent to one year of education.
  • At least six years of experience defining and managing software requirements, designing, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle activities, architecture, and documentation, including planning and performing software design, coding, and testing.
  • At least six years of experience in Windows Azure software development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Certificate Services, Azure Active Directory integrations, and other cloud-related services.
  • Six years of program- or project-level experience in software design.
  • Six years of experience in an Agile DevSecOps software development environment and methodologies.
  • Six years of experience with Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 1 determination for unclassified systems.
  • Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, create, modify, test, troubleshoot, and document general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
  • Design or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency, including analyzing and designing databases within an application area and coordinating database development as part of a team.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
  • Participate in all phases of software application program engineering, including design, analysis, and modeling at a highly technical level.
  • Perform software operating system and application engineering, including full-life-cycle application systems design and development, and assess system architecture and hardware limitations.
  • Define and select new concepts and approaches for designing, developing, and implementing software engineering applications; define complex design specifications and parameters; and resolve complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
  • Perform requirements acquisition and definition and data analysis, and direct research on emerging technologies to determine impacts on application execution.
  • Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts; translate detailed designs into computer software; test, debug, and refine software to produce the required product.
  • Prepare program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
  • Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.
  • Perform systems modeling, database analysis, design, implementation, and testing; write, modify, and maintain technical documentation and specifications, including user manuals, system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Customize purchased applications when needed.
  • Perform technical and subject-matter research on emerging technologies to determine impacts on application execution, and conduct integration testing and support for computer operating and network systems.
  • Troubleshoot and provide customer support for software operating system and application issues, and analyze and document client needs and requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, participate in meetings to ensure client needs are met, and make client presentations when needed.
  • Serve as a task or team lead in a technical role by training software engineers and implementing and enforcing established standards and technologies, or in a project-coordination role by leading tasks and assuming responsibility for the design, development, testing, and delivery of a software system or application.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant assigned hardware and software applications and participate in special projects as required.
