Requirements
  • Fluent German language skills (required).
  • Proven success in software sales, ideally in a Mid-market context, managing a varied book of business.
  • Ability to guide customers through the full buying journey, including defining buying criteria, mapping buying processes, and driving clear next steps.

  • Experience documenting and maintaining accurate pipeline data and account plans based on evidence rather than assumptions.

  • Proficiency in negotiation, presenting to customer stakeholders, and leading commercial discussions to close opportunities.
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values and an interest in contributing from diverse or transferable sales backgrounds, with willingness to travel in line with company policy.
Responsibilities
  • Report to an Area Sales Manager and own a broad book of mid-market business, from new prospects to growing existing accounts.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for Mid-market prospects, from discovery and solution alignment through negotiation and close.
  • Support GitLab for Mid Market prospects by clearly articulating our DevSecOps value proposition and aligning it to customer business outcomes.
  • Analyze wins and losses, contribute to root cause analyses, and share lessons learned with account managers, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Document and maintain accurate buying criteria, buying processes, next steps, and owners to ensure a reliable, evidence-based pipeline.
  • Contribute to improving our sales handbook and processes by documenting best practices and opportunities for refinement.
  • Provide account leadership and direction across pre- and post-sales, partnering closely with technical teams and customer success.
  • Represent the voice of the customer by contributing product feedback and ideas to our public issue tracker.

  • Interest in GitLab, open source software, and preferably familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management.

GitLab partners with Google Cloud to power AI agents with Vertex AI models

GitLab has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate Vertex AI models into its GitLab Duo Agent Platform. Google Cloud customers can now use Vertex AI models within GitLab and count that usage towards existing cloud commitments. The integration allows AI agents in GitLab's platform to access Vertex AI's Model Garden, including Gemini models, whilst maintaining GitLab's governance controls. Agents can draw context from issues, code repositories and CI pipelines without leaving the platform, with all actions subject to existing access controls and audit logging. Self-hosted customers can use GitLab's Bring Your Own Model option to connect approved models. GitLab's AI Gateway runs on Google Cloud infrastructure including GKE and Cloud Run. The partnership aims to provide enterprises with AI agents that combine strong model performance with enterprise governance requirements.

GitLab launches version 18.10 with affordable agentic AI access

CrowdStrike posts first GAAP profit of $38.7M while GitLab plunges 9% on slowing growth guidance
