Requirements
  • A high school GED is required.
  • Moderate proficiency in data entry is required.
  • A Property and Casualty/Solicitors License is required.
  • A valid Property and Casualty Insurance License issued by the state within the past year is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional customer service and information to members and insureds regarding memberships and insurance.
  • Provide service to walk-in and telephone members seeking insurance services.
  • Sell memberships and assist in selling insurance to prospective insureds.
  • Assist members with changes to existing policies or memberships, renewals, and billing inquiries.
  • Accept membership and insurance payments.
  • Verify insurance coverage for lien holders and leasing companies.
  • Provide binders as requested.
  • Perform typing and administrative duties, including preparing letters, forms, cards, rush escrows, and evidence of insurance.
  • Develop insurance leads for office sales agents and life specialists.
  • Provide service support for management, sales agents, and life agents.
  • Engage in cross-selling opportunities.
  • Resolve member and insured-related problems using discretion and independent judgment, referring issues requiring greater authority to the appropriate level.
  • Handle routine and complex transactions and basic complaints according to sales and underwriting guidelines.
  • Refer complex complaints to higher-level Insurance Specialists or Sales Management.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Moderate Microsoft Word and Excel skills are preferred.
  • Advanced customer service skills are preferred.
