Requirements
  • Ph.D. + 5 years or MS + 8 years of experience in EE or related field
  • 3-5 years of prior experience in disk drive industry
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and Design of Experiment (DOE)
  • Strong background in advanced system characterization and/or integration, and read channel experience in magnetic recording
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for advanced HDD system design and integration of new technologies into product designs
  • Work with cross-functional groups on qualifying technology designs into products
  • Lead efforts on enabling technologies for next generation HDD products
  • Work with equipment development group on characterizing system level read/write data path
  • Establish close collaboration with peers and exercise creativity to enable progress in advanced HDD technology development
  • Manage complex programs and develop innovative solutions for technical issues
  • Proactively identify and prevent problems that may cross disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
