Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Current registered nurse state licensure.
  • Experience in clinical nursing.
  • At least six months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
  • Successful completion of the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Manage short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily clinic business operations, including center staff, patient care quality, physical plant, equipment, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and related financial aspects to meet budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status, including clinical, insurance, travel, and transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Obtain clinical feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with the Director of Operations and Human Resources.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with medical staff bylaws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and ensure regular, effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional interdisciplinary Governing Body.
  • Oversee direct patient care activities performed by the Clinical Manager or Charge Registered Nurse, Medical Director, and physicians.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review clinic operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards and regulatory requirements using company quality-improvement tools.
  • Implement facility-specific quality action plans with the Charge Registered Nurse and Medical Director.
  • Oversee training and compliance with risk-management initiatives.
  • Address adverse safety events and action thresholds with the Charge Registered Nurse.
  • Communicate and implement quality policies and procedures.
  • Manage facility staff workload and provide guidance to ensure timely execution of duties.
  • Create and communicate employee schedules according to staffing needs.
  • Consult with the Charge Registered Nurse and Medical Director to optimize clinical staffing.
  • Provide ongoing informal feedback and formal annual performance evaluations.
  • Set annual staff goals with the Charge Registered Nurse and Medical Director.
  • Manage hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain documentation of disciplinary meetings and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure new-hire orientation, training, coding training, mandatory in-services, licensure documentation, and policy updates are completed.
  • Provide training and guidance to develop staff clinical competencies and support professional growth.
  • Communicate benefits and Human Resources policies to staff.
  • Participate in employee recognition and satisfaction programs.
  • Communicate company, division, and corporate initiatives, policies, and procedures to facility staff.
  • Use company services and products to contribute to business growth.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Schedule equipment, operating-system, and facility-structure maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor facility security.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management, including inventory counts and purchase orders.
  • Ensure efficient use of medications, laboratory resources, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Contribute to facility policy and procedure development and manual updates.
  • Direct information gathering to support billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services, including insurance, laboratory, and facility cleaning.
  • Supervise Charge Registered Nurses and DPC staff.
  • Perform desk and computer work and interact with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Stand for prolonged periods and bend over as required by the position.
  • Move patients and equipment weighing up to 200 pounds with assistance when required.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
