Requirements

5+ years experience in Financial Planning roles in manufacturing and/or operations
Experience working with manufacturing and operations teams required (e.g. BOMs, Material Variances, Cost Accounting, Cycle Counting, Inventory, Physical Counts, Value Engineering, etc. )
Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in presentations to multiple levels in the organization
Excellent project management & organizational skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Demonstrated experience to perform within tight deadlines
A keen eye for details and data alignment across systems and reporting with a passion for using data to help make informed decisions
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; or, an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Responsibilities

Drive alignment of planning and investment with the company's overall strategic priorities
Develop, deliver, and maintain insightful research and reporting for internal stakeholders to enable optimal financial management of their area of the business, helping achieve department & company goals
Leverage data, financial analysis, and business understanding to research and recommend business growth opportunities and efficiencies
Initiate, drive, and implement processes and systems that enable the organization to scale
Identify key operating metrics, and develop executive/department dashboards to track these metrics including surface findings with strategic recommendations

SaaS Planning (Vena, Adaptive or Anaplan) experience preferred

Astra is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial-minded Manager of FP&A Manufacturing & Operations to join the team. As part of Operations FP&A, you will share the team’s impact on all aspects of planning, implementing all financial commitments, and telling the programmatic story behind the numbers. Your work will drive outstanding financial results by enabling and accelerating Astra’s strategy.

You will build strong partnerships across the organization, provide rigor, and solve problems with your creativity. You’ll interpret financial and operational performance to identify business risks and opportunities. You’ll do this by creating financial tools, partnering with Operations teams to develop long-range goals, annual budgets, and ongoing forecasts.

The successful candidate will provide a solid voice for representing Finance, have the ability to head up cross-functional projects, and thrive in a fun, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

ITAR Requirements: This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws. Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicants ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.
