Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Communications or a related field
- 4+ years traditional buying/merchandising experience in the home/lifestyle (off-price or subscription model a plus!)
- Experience managing 50+ active brand conversations at one time
- Confident negotiating costs, managing an order from PO placement through transportation and on-time delivery
- Strong rolodex with existing contacts and relationships in the category
- Ability to manage open to buy (OTB) and meet company financial goals
- Adaptable to change and receptive to feedback and suggestions
- Exposure overseeing and mentoring junior members of the team
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders
- Advanced Excel knowledge / retail math
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage tier 1 & 2 brand partnerships in our home vertical and sub-categories
- Source & buy products according to plan, assuring you meet financial goals for e-Commerce sales (margin, SKU productivity) and seasonal box (cost benchmarks, Q score/Awareness targets) while maintaining a well balanced assortment
- Work closely with brands and internal FabFitFun sourcing and product development teams to ideate, create, and develop products and new category lines for brands - conception to delivery
- Execution of complex deals by working cross-functionally with the operations, legal, marketing, planning, and merch strategy teams
- Work with our Customer Service team to communicate product related issues
- Help project manage brand campaigns with our Marketing and Editorial teams
- Partner with senior cross-functional leaders to ensure brand strategies and developments come to life and are executed
- Conduct competitive marketplace analysis to assess and create business opportunities
- Attend market and/or trade shows seasonally
