Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-degree experience working for a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering firm or an architecture and engineering firm.
  • A Professional Engineering license; an Engineer in Training credential will be considered.
  • Current and active National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying registration in good standing.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Experience with fire protection, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems.
  • Experience with Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, or eQuest.
  • Experience with psychrometric charts, Ductulator, and Pipe Flow.
  • Ability to interpret scopes of work, bases of design, field surveys, and code research.
  • Ability to combine personal judgment with project information and knowledge of codes and standards to implement design criteria.
  • Ability to work remotely; local candidates may instead work in the office or use a hybrid schedule.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and support heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, plumbing, fire protection, process, and utility engineering efforts.
  • Contribute directly to engineering and design efforts for the firm.
  • Execute engineering and design duties to ensure quality products.
  • Lead and mentor subordinate staff in their daily responsibilities.
  • Serve as engineer of record from the concept phase through construction documents and construction administration.
  • Design layouts of distribution systems and equipment locations in coordination with discipline and project team members.
  • Perform system calculations and size and select system components.
  • Review shop drawing submittals and travel to job sites to perform field verification.
  • Author bases of design narratives, design criteria documents, engineering reports, and other technical documents.
  • Edit design specifications, respond to Requests for Information using project documents and design criteria, and prepare meeting notes.
  • Read relevant project correspondence and maintain project design files.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with hydronic systems.
  • Experience with healthcare facilities and central plant infrastructure, including boiler systems and chilled water systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Project, AFT Arrow, Fathom, and Caesar.
  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric.
