Requirements
  • The candidate should have shipped production code to millions of devices.

Responsibilities
  • Work with contract manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers on specification discovery, board development, and embedded software updates across the hardware stack.
  • Bring up and manage automated hardware-in-the-loop integration tests across embodiments.
  • Work on pathOS, the generalized embedded Rust operating system supporting mainboard printed circuit boards and actuators.
  • Work with the machine learning and mechanical teams to prototype and validate new sensors.

Watney builds autonomous robotic systems that maintain and operate datacenter and supercomputing infrastructure for hyperscalers. The robots perform physical maintenance and monitoring tasks, either teleoperated or autonomous, across large-scale facilities, reducing the need for human presence. The technology uses high-performance runtimes, low-latency cross-continental control, and robust inference to coordinate dexterous robots. Its goal is to enable significant compute scaling by removing manual workload and plugging automation into complex infrastructure, differentiating itself by targeting cloud-scale operators rather than consumer robotics.
