CACI is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join OPS North in Belgrade, MT. OPS North CACI is a fast-growing technology company that is a global leader in counter unmanned aerial systems, high-tech camera systems, and software development. What You’ll Get to Do:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the manufacturing team in creating and maintaining the efficient production of highly technical, complex, electro-mechanical devices of gyro-stabilized camera systems. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will also be responsible for working closely with the production team and assisting with the following: assembly, improvement projects, quality assurance, process-based activities (e.g. developing and maintaining efficient production-related procedures/workflows).
More About the Role:
- Work with cross functional teams including engineering and production to introduce new products to manufacturing, and develop the manufacturing processes to ensure that all products are consistently manufactured.
- Lead and complete production improvement projects identified by the Production Engineer.
- Identify KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and report results over course of internship to production management.
- Establish and verify new equipment capabilities and new process parameters prior to release to production.
- Research, design, and implement new and/or custom equipment and tooling to support manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, techniques and quality issues and develop corrective actions to maintain productivity and acceptance level.
- Perform assembly station maintenance and compliance with ESD mitigation.
- Assist in the development and recommendation of equipment and workstation layouts to optimize production efficiency and improve quality levels of processes Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned by the production engineer.
- Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Pursuit of Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial Engineering preferred
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Organized, efficient, good at multitasking, and driven to succeed.
- Must be detail & team oriented.
- Must possess excellent hand eye coordination
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have the discipline to follow written and verbal directions closely.
- Must be neat and orderly in workspaces.
- Must be able to sit and focus for long periods.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Adhere to product care guidance set forth by the Production Manager.
- Must adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and 5S principles.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where requirements may frequently change.
Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate Student
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance
If Undergraduate or Graduate, pursing a degree in Engineering or related field is preferred, not required
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
