Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license for at least three years with a clean driving record.
  • Current International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers membership with Trainee classification is required.
  • Must be able to recognize dangers using hearing and vision while remaining fully engaged and alert to surroundings.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and take safe action to avoid serious injuries to pedestrians, vehicles, customers, and employees.
  • Must be able to understand traffic signals, signs, traffic plans, and customer requests.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers, the public, and other team members.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute throughout Northern California.
  • Must be punctual, manage time effectively, and work in a team environment.
  • Must be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • ATSSA Flagger Certification is required.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification is required.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others.
  • Must be able to work independently as needed.
  • Must work in high-volume outdoor locations with multiple interruptions throughout the day.
  • Must have strong conflict-resolution techniques and customer-service and communication skills.
  • Must have excellent multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must read and write English fluently.
  • Must be able to frequently lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and assemble traffic-control materials in the proper order to manage work-zone traffic.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods in various weather conditions and at different times of day or night.
  • Must be able to stoop for prolonged periods and use hand and finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to perform reaching, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, and near, distance, and peripheral vision tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining day-to-day work-zone setup, including setup and teardown.
  • Meet or exceed customer, state, federal, and company expectations.
  • Follow company and state guidelines for effective, safe, and well-managed work zones.
  • Drive company trucks as needed.
  • Keep equipment in trucks organized and in working order.
  • Develop knowledge of work-zone setup and professional flagging responsibilities.
  • Provide clear direction to customers and the general public moving or traveling around a work zone.
  • Direct traffic around work zones for utility construction crews.
  • Provide on-time arrival and well-managed work zones for customers.
  • Maintain a consistent focus on safety throughout all job functions.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One year of flagging experience is preferred.

City Rise Safety provides traffic control and safety services in California to protect crews, work zones, and communities. It offers traffic control and flagging, traffic control plans and permits, ADU installation traffic control, special event safety, equipment rental, and custom signage.
