  • Previous experience in long-term care.
  • A genuine desire to care for elderly residents.
  • A mature and career-minded approach.
Responsibilities
  • Provide resident care according to physicians' orders, established standards, and administrative policies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of care.
  • Perform all functions in compliance with CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate and interpret care goals to residents and their families or caregivers.
  • Perform wellness checks and medication reminders.
  • Organize activities and escort residents to meals and special events.
  • Apply and remove TED hose.
  • Make beds and change linens.
  • Empty trash and provide laundry services.
  • Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, walking, and other daily resident-care activities.
  • Deliver meals and provide pet services, including dog walking, feeding, watering, and changing cat litter.
  • Assist with the admissions process and greet residents and family members.
  • Maintain a calm and pleasant living environment for residents.
  • Use a gait belt to assist residents who are not fully ambulatory.
  • Document changes in residents' medical conditions for the appropriate nurses on duty.
  • Give and receive shift reports to ensure consistent medical care is delivered.
