Requirements
  • High School education or GED.
  • Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record and car insurance.
  • Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow directions and listen to the needs of patients and doctors.
  • Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Requires standing, walking, pushing and stooping on a periodic basis.
  • Lifting requirements vary depending upon the specialty division hired for: Audiology and Vision require less than 50 pounds, while Podiatry requires minimal lifting.
  • Must be able to push patients in a wheelchair.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
  • May require working under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • May involve exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians at assigned long-term care facilities with audiology, optometry, podiatry care, and behavioral health.
  • Complete chart preparation for scheduled patients before every visit.
  • Verify and maintain current and accurate clinical records, charts, and medical history through electronic medical records during patient visits.
  • Ensure the integrity of all documentation.
  • Complete end-of-visit reports on the day of the visit and share them with management.
  • Provide daily feedback and work with the branch office to optimize scheduling and reporting.
  • Coordinate and maintain patient flow during facility visits, including removing socks and shoes and pushing wheelchairs when needed.
  • Balance and generate daily production reports and provide them to the manager on the day of the visit.
  • Accurately post charges to the appropriate provider in a timely manner.
  • Work in the medical office capacity provided by the facility.
  • Care for and clean medical equipment at the end of every visit.
  • Maintain medical-supply inventory by auditing stock, determining inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, and placing and expediting supply orders.
  • Manage resources by preparing supplies with minimal waste and avoiding duplication.
  • Ensure medical equipment is working properly by completing preventive-maintenance requirements and following manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Clean the service area used by the facility before departing each visit.
  • Communicate with patients, family members, providers, facility staff, and other staff.
  • Provide timely responses to patient inquiries and document conversations in the electronic medical record.
  • Travel up to 100% of the time to and from assigned medical facilities.
  • Support and comply with all components of the compliance program, including completing training and reporting suspected violations of law and company policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and protected health information guidelines.
  • React positively to change and perform other assigned duties.
