Requirements
  • A high school education is required.
  • Must acquire personal safety skills within 90 days of employment, including handcuffing, pepper spray, and crisis intervention.
  • Must have or be able to attend the CPI training program.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for mobile patrol of the facility.
  • Must have one to two years of related security experience.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct security and safety rounds of the facility twice during each shift, document findings, identify and correct discrepancies and hazards, and test alarm systems.
  • Assist with aggressive or combative patients and assist licensed clinical staff with applying restraints.
  • Monitor high-risk patients awaiting disposition in the emergency department and apply the Medical Center's Use of Force policy appropriately.
  • Provide required documentation of security department incidents and activities, including clear and concise incident reports and daily activity-log entries.
  • Facilitate use of the emergency evacuation heliport and follow the policies governing its use.
  • Apply ground safety training as required.
  • Act as the first responder for hazardous-material emergencies, immediately assess situations, appropriately isolate hazards, and activate outside resources such as the Nashua Police Department and Nashua Fire Rescue when needed.
