Responsibilities
  • Developing engineering design specifications for proposed projects or systems modifications.
  • Providing functional supervision to lower-level professional and technical staff.
  • Reviewing construction plans to ensure compliance with City codes, ordinances, standards, and overall project feasibility.
  • Coordinating the proper implementation of plans in actual construction.
  • Appraising property values and determining specific requirements (i.e., sanitary sewer, easement, etc.) for the completion of engineering projects.
  • Serving as an information source for City employees at all levels and the public.
  • Rendering technical advice and opinions with regard to specific projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience administering or managing engineering design or construction projects.
  • Experience in designing, reviewing and managing water or wastewater treatment projects, large diameter pipelines, pumping stations and/or facility projects.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental, civil, mechanical or chemical engineering.
