- Graduate from an approved school of nursing, or hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.
- Hold an associate degree or graduate from an accredited two-year college program in Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant.
- Have three years of experience in nursing, including two years of clinical experience.
- Hold a current Registered Nurse, Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of Florida.
- Collaborate with appropriate outlying facilities and agencies to ensure protocols are aligned with evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide a safe and clean environment.
- Participate in budget preparations and committee functions as assigned.
- Practice effective problem identification and resolution using evidence-based practice.
- Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate knowledge and expertise regarding patient care.
- Function as a patient advocate while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain focus on the educational growth of patients, families, team members, and self.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span and implement appropriate interventions while remaining sensitive to cultural needs.
- Promote organizational collaboration by participating in departmental and hospital programs, committees, and special projects.
- Comply with all regulatory and accrediting requirements.
- Ensure safety, health, and regulatory standards are attained in the area of responsibility.
- Manage human-resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate process-improvement activities.
- Function as the corporate liaison between Administration, medical staff, and team members.
- Oversee staff development, identification of risk-management issues, policies, guidelines, safety and infection-control issues, and monitoring of staff attendance at mandatory meetings.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret data.
- Provide the care required by the department's policies and procedures.
- Prior experience in Surgical Services, Orthopedics, Spine, or related perioperative settings is preferred.
