Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, Business, Public Affairs, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in outside sales, business development, or a related area is required.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience working with medical professionals and/or medical operations or marketing is required.
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and data analysis is required.
  • Ability to use market data and field intelligence to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and achieve sustained referral growth through the referral relationship funnel and sales cycle.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and regulatory environment, including the ability to comply with HIPAA, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and Stark Laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry political, economic, and competitive market factors.
  • A successful track record in customer service, sales, or referral development, with a demonstrated desire to grow and assume greater responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Physician and Clinical Liaisons to grow revenue and market share.
  • Ensure consistent team-member performance in accordance with training and assigned deployment objectives.
  • Manage team performance, development, and retention of top talent.
  • Screen, recruit, and make hiring decisions in collaboration with Talent Acquisition.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Training, and the Chief Operating Officer to develop, implement, and evolve the Physician and Clinical Liaison training program.
  • Coach team members through ride-alongs, typically every 2–3 weeks, with regular travel of up to 50% of the time.
  • Ensure team members effectively and consistently navigate the referral relationship funnel and sales cycle.
  • Partner with each Physician and Clinical Liaison to create sales plans that achieve or exceed growth goals.
  • Create clear communications and messaging strategies for designated territories and ensure effective deployment through the Physician Team.
  • Conduct regular team strategy and planning meetings with the team and individual team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set performance and developmental objectives for each team member.
  • Participate in developing annual, quarterly, and monthly growth objectives and work with the Physician Team to determine the referral portfolio available from targeted physicians and practices.
  • Use data to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and team and team-member performance against budgets and objectives.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to set annual, quarterly, and monthly financial budgets for each territory and directly manage the assigned territory budget.
  • Prepare activity and performance reports for Leadership.
  • Monitor and report market and competitor information.
  • Develop and report financial and budget performance.
  • Partner with internal and external physicians to understand motivations and needs that accelerate or impede referral growth, and identify opportunities to eliminate barriers and capitalize on strengths.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations leadership on workflow improvements and implement new team-member assignments to support referral growth.
  • Share best practices and program enhancements to accelerate referral efforts across the organization.
  • Ensure all team members comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and approve expense reports for all team members.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information in accordance with organizational policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
