Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant: Must hold ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification gained in a Big 4 or mid-tier accountancy firm, with minimum of one year of post-qualification experience.
  • Group Finance Expertise: Experience in a group finance environment, specifically in group consolidations within a multicurrency context for large international UK-based groups or via Audit of group consolidations within a multicurrency context for large international UK-based groups.
  • Consolidation and Statutory Accounts: Experience in preparing group consolidated statutory accounts, individual entity accounts and disclosure notes or via Audit of group consolidated statutory accounts, individual entity accounts and disclosure notes.
  • Consolidation Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close or similar consolidation packages.
  • IFRS Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS, including providing accounting solutions to complex issues.
  • Audit Collaboration: Experience working closely with external Big 4 auditors for interim and annual audits.
  • Specialised Accounting Areas: Experience in pensions, group eliminations, IFRS16, hyperinflation, impairment testing and treasury-related accounting.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications with at least intermediate Excel skills.
  • Process Improvement: Capable of driving process improvements and providing solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, able to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Deadlines: Used to working to tight deadlines, prioritising multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Drive continuous process improvement in all areas of consolidated financial reporting, with a focus on efficiency and automation.
  • Review monthly results submitted by the Group’s subsidiaries and work with the region and entity financial controllers / managers and the shared service centre to understand, correct and explain irregularities to ensure integrity and accuracy.
  • Review intra group balances and transactions to ensure they eliminate on consolidation
  • Prepare and load monthly consolidation journals and eliminations that are not automatically done by the consolidation system
  • Prepare schedules and disclosure notes for the Group’s quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS.
  • Prepare internal financial reports and reporting to private equity owners and bond holders.
  • Help develop the in-house reporting team’s capabilities to ensure successful quarterly and annual investors’ reporting and external audits for the Group.
  • Escalate accounting issues internally on a timely basis to ensure that they are cleared ahead of the quarterly reporting and year-end reporting dates.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide commentaries for senior management and for audit analytical reviews.
  • Support testing improvements to the new Group consolidation system.
  • Assist in the preparation of working papers for the external auditors.
  • Contribute to the development of the Group’s policies.
  • Provide financial ad hoc analyses for Senior Management and take part in projects as required.
  • Assist the Group Technical Accounting Manager in answering technical IFRS questions
