Job Details:
Purpose
The Radiology Technologist supports the radiology team by preparing examination rooms, assisting patients during procedures, and maintaining imaging equipment. This position works closely with radiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care and key responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment handling, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Patient Preparation
- Positions patients for imaging procedures.
- Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
- Ensures patient comfort and safety during examinations.
Equipment Handling
- Operates radiologic equipment under supervision.
- Maintains and calibrates imaging equipment.
- Ensures all equipment is functional and properly maintained.
Administrative Tasks
- Schedules appointments and maintains patient records.
- Processes imaging orders and updates digital filing systems.
- Adheres to clinic protocols and safety guidelines.
Quality Control
- Ensures adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Monitors inventory and stocks necessary supplies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Current CPR Certification.
- Quickly learns and applies new technical skills.
- Prioritizes patient needs and ensures satisfaction.
- Takes initiative and acts decisively.
- Builds effective relationships with colleagues and patients.
- Plans and organizes tasks efficiently.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in radiologic technology or related field.
- Relevant experience in radiology or medical assistance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or equivalent.
- Texas General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license
Salary
$35/hr
Working Environment and Equipment
- Standard office equipment
- Repetitive use of a keyboard
- May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients, or others.
