Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 4-5 years of experience in engineering or facilities management, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate, guide, and train a team of engineers and technicians effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess situations, identify problems, and implement solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members, guests, and management.
  • Time Management: Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, including fire, electrical, and building safety standards. Ability to enforce safety practices and conduct inspections.
Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities are completed according to company standards. Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
  • Maintenance Management: Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems. Ensure that routine checks are conducted to avoid equipment breakdowns and downtime.
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors and contractors when necessary for more complex repairs.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure that all engineering systems are functioning efficiently and that resources are used in the most cost-effective manner. Monitor and report on system performance, identifying opportunities for energy savings and process improvements.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with local safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols for the engineering team.
  • Equipment and Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of engineering materials, tools, and spare parts. Ensure proper storage, use, and timely ordering of materials. Keep accurate records of equipment repairs and maintenance history.
  • Project Management: Assist in managing engineering projects, including renovations, installations, and upgrades. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to engineering staff on new equipment, systems, safety procedures, and operational best practices. Encourage team development and continuous learning.
  • Guest and Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, facilities, and operations, to ensure that engineering issues affecting guests or operations are promptly addressed.
  • Performance Reporting: Maintain records of maintenance activities, incidents, and repairs. Provide regular updates and reports to the Engineering Manager on team performance, system status, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Sustainability: Implement and promote energy-efficient solutions and sustainable practices within the engineering department to minimize waste and reduce the environmental impact.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the engineering team during emergencies, ensuring quick and effective response to equipment failures, safety hazards, or other urgent issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in engineering, HVAC, electrical systems, or a related field is preferred.
